Key West Songwriters Festival April 27-May 1

The island better known as Margaritaville will host more than 100 top songwriters performing some of their biggest hits in an intimate setting during the 16th annual Key West Songwriters Festival, which takes place Wednesday, April 27, through Sunday, May 1, featuring more than 40 shows on 28 stages.

The artists scheduled to perform include Raul Malo, lead singer for the Mavericks; award-winning Nashville hitmaker Jamey Johnson; Jerrod Niemann; Bo Bice of ?American Idol? fame, singer/songwriter Robert Earl Keen, Bob DiPiero; Randy Houser and songwriting legend Keith Stegall, who produced the number-one smash ?It?s Five O?Clock Somewhere? for Jimmy Buffett and Alan Jackson. Other performers include James Slater, who penned ?Key West Address,? and Chuck Cannon, who co-wrote ?How Do You Like Me Now?? with Country legend Toby Keith.

The venues for the Key West Songwriters Festival range from popular Key West bars and restaurants to musical sunset cruises, including Thursday and Friday night shows at the majestic San Carlos Institute Cuban cultural center.
